Sometimes, I feel like the cleverest trick American power brokers ever pulled was keeping those progressives lucky enough to get solidly into the middle class happy enough to not fight tooth and nail for the more socialist, more equal society that we all deserve and keeping the masses on either side either dumb enough to not understand politics from all angles and/or too poor to do anything but fight tooth and nail to survive.
Well, more than sometimes.
