President Obama has been a consistent and vocal opponent of welfare reform. As a state senator he repeatedly expressed his opposition to the bipartisan legislation. Now, as President, he has gutted the very same law.  http://mi.tt/OLuOjm 

“Work requirements for welfare” still strikes me as coded racism for “We’re gonna make those minorities work!” And, sadly, they’re something that only about seven percent of Americans oppose. That’s how well the “welfare queen” narrative, which was about as big a racist lie as we’ve had perpetrated in the last 30 years, worked.
