“Here’s what’s brilliant about Rap Genius,” Charnas says. “It realizes that music is more than just text; it realizes that there’s context and subtext. And it puts that context and subtext in hypertext.”
…

Whitney Houston was only 48 years old when she died, and Michael Jackson barely made 50 before his tragic end. Admittedly both deaths were artificially instigated, but it just goes to show that life is fleeting and, as Questlove says, there are no guarantees we get to live to enjoy ourselves at a ripe old age.
-a RapGenius on Childish Gambino’s We Ain’t Them.
DMX explaining the composition rate of fecal matter
-RapGenius zinger fail on DMX’s Shit Don’t Change.

I just want to point out that the guy who runs Rap Genius told me that they hadn’t monetized it and had no way of monetizing it, and also that Elis and rap don’t mix.
